The Blair Family Compound is one of the premier houses on nearby Wrightsville Beach. Two attached, ocean-front lots were purchased and an old beach hotel demolished in order to create the space for the Compound. 360° of water views include the Atlantic Coast, the Intracoastal Waterway and Banks Channel, making this a remarkable second home. The back of the house - facing the ocean - is curved forward to echo the prow of a boat and the sensation of being afloat on open seas is particularly enhanced when standing on the generous decks and balconies surrounding the structure. A private path leads over the dunes to the beach. The home has over 6,000 square feet of living space, the entire top floor of which is dedicated to the master suite. In addition to the master bedroom there is a sitting area, a home office and a large master bath with a steam shower. An elevator allows for convenient access to homes three floors. Four children's bedrooms and bathrooms occupy the entire second floor. The main living area is composed of a great room, dining room, kitchen and guest bedrooms. The home is full of exquisite details including a front foyer and hall treated to look as though covered with sand, including sea creatures and shells embedded within it. Thoughtful design of necessary conveniences allows for gracious, open spaces and easy living. The Blairs were kind enough to honor Maritime by echoing our logo with the insertion of a compass rose composed of inlaid woods into the foyer floor.
